Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter: World has achieved a new sales milestone.
In the latest news for the game, it has been revealed that Monster Hunter: World has reached a new sales record. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Monster Hunter series, Capcom announced that both digital and physical sales of this role-playing game have surpassed 25 million copies. Naturally, sales of the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition are also included in this statistic, which includes the base game and the Iceborne expansion pack.
Capcom announced in its latest financial report that the total sales of Monster Hunter games have reached 97 million copies as of December 31, 2023. Monster Hunter: World managed to sell 24.1 million copies by the end of the third quarter of this fiscal year, while 11.6 million copies of the Iceborne expansion pack, 14.2 million copies of Monster Hunter Rise, and 7.1 million copies of the Sunbreak expansion pack have been sold.
Monster Hunter: World has become Capcom's best-selling game ever. This game was released on April 6, 2017 (January 26, 2018) for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it was released on August 12, 2018 (August 3, 2018) for PC (on Steam). The Iceborne expansion pack was released on September 15, 2019 (September 6, 2019) for PS4 and Xbox One, and on December 19, 2019 (January 9, 2020) for PC.
