Nightdive Studio announced that the new version of System Shock will be released on May 21, 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The game will also be released for Xbox Series S. The console version will feature new features such as a female protagonist and an extended ending.
The new version of System Shock was made available to PC users in May 2023. Nightdive Studios remained silent about the console release since the game's PC launch, only hinting that these versions would reach players "in due time." Last September, the new version of System Shock was rated by the ESRB for consoles, indicating the imminent release of the game for more platforms in the near future.

The developer mentioned that the production of the new version of System Shock is progressing smoothly but still requires some quality assurance steps. Improvements in the new version of System Shock include enemy diversity in final stages, minor changes in the castle, creation of a new type of enemy, a complete collapse system, and updates to weapon effects.
